Zoomies Against Sexual Assault (ZASA) is a 501(c)3 organization committed to eradicating sexual assault and harassment within the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and providing unwavering support to survivors.

 

Our organization tirelessly advocates for survivor rights and support, offers crucial resources, bolsters prevention programs, and maintains an informative and dynamic online presence.

 

We aim to broaden community engagement, grow our membership, and enhance the assistance available to survivors.

Myths about Sexual Assault 

Myths about sexual assault silence survivors, mislead bystanders, and protect perpetrators.

 

Assault is about power, not clothing, past actions, or resistance.

 

Consent is a clear, ongoing choice—never implied by silence or coercion.

 

Challenging these myths fosters safety, accountability, and a culture of integrity essential to future warfighters.

What We Know

From prior focus groups, we know that cadets and midshipmen do not want a sexual assault report to define their reputation and their Academy and post-Academy career. However, some areas showed signs of improvement, for example, in perceptions regarding whether Academy students elicit negative reactions from their peers if they report a sexual assault.

ZASA has learned that Blackberg Group is seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented SAHPR Program Administrative Assistant to support a federal science agency’s Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response Program (SAHPR).  This role provides administrative and writing/editorial support to help maintain and improve SAHPR policies, procedures, guidance, and communications - ensuring they are clear, consistent, accurate, and easy for employees and stakeholders to understand and access.  For inquiries or to apply, please reach out directly to Emily at Blackberg Group via emily@blackberggroup.com.

Mission: To unite USAFA Cadets past and present to combat sexual assault, sexual harassment and survivor abuse at USAFA.

Vision: Zoomies Against Sexual Assault (ZASA) is a USAFA Association of Graduates (AOG) Affinity Group that is open to all cadets, former cadets (alumni and graduates), as well as families and friends of USAFA. Our goals are three-fold: 1. Eliminate sexual assault/sexual harassment and survivor abuse at USAFA, 2. Ensure appropriate post trauma care and support to survivors, and 3. Build a bridge between USAFA and those who have lost faith in the institution and its leadership.
