Zoomies Against Sexual Assault (ZASA) is a USAFA Association of Graduates (AOG) Affinity Group that is open to all cadets, former cadets (alumni and graduates), as well as families and friends of USAFA.
Our goals are three-fold:

1. Eliminate sexual assault/sexual harassment and survivor abuse at USAFA

2. Ensure appropriate post trauma care and support to survivors

3. Build a bridge between USAFA and those who have lost faith in the institution and its leadership.

Zoomies Against Sexual Assault (ZASA) is a 501(c)3 organization committed to eradicating sexual assault and harassment within the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and providing unwavering support to survivors.
Our organization tirelessly advocates for survivor rights and support, offers crucial resources, bolsters prevention programs, and maintains an informative and dynamic online presence.
We aim to broaden community engagement, grow our membership, and enhance the assistance available to survivors.

What's Going On
ZASA has learned that Blackberg Group is seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented SAHPR Program Administrative Assistant to support a federal science agency’s Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention and Response Program (SAHPR). This role provides administrative and writing/editorial support to help maintain and improve SAHPR policies, procedures, guidance, and communications - ensuring they are clear, consistent, accurate, and easy for employees and stakeholders to understand and access. Checkpoints Letter to the Editor
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Peter Bergamini's '79 letter in a recent issue of Checkpoints hit a poignant note with some of us, coming as it did in such close timing with the Celebration of the 50th year of women at the service academies. Those of you who attended the AF celebration, held at the spectacular new Polaris Hotel, heard, shared, and experienced the legacy as described by over 500 women from over 40 class years. The event was, in a word, amazing.
Unfortunately, the point that the integration was neither smooth nor completely well planned is very true. We who lived it can attest to that. That the problems persist in one way or another to this day is also unfortunately true.
Sexual assault is not a female problem, nor is it a too-much-to-drink problem. The number of men who are assaulted is more than trivial. Assaults have occurred on people who were simply leaving the gym, taking a shower, sleeping in their own bed, or studying with a classmate. A vast majority of assaults are done by trusted companions — the data is very clear on this point. The question "Why does this happen?" is important. There is another question that needs to be addressed as well: "What does this do to trust?" We have the Honor Code, designed to inculcate trust within the community, but there can be no trust when members are continually on guard against a potential attack.
The graduate community has not been silent on this matter. Zoomies Against Sexual Assault (ZASA) was created by a determined group of graduates in 2017 to address the issues of all sexual assaults, not just the ones against women. The approach that ZASA adopted combines education, outreach, and action in active coordination with USAFA. Some spectacular results have been achieved, far too many to include in this letter.
